Legendary Mridangam Maestro | Guinness World Record Holder | Padma Shri Awardee
Dr. Yella Venkateswara Rao is a fifth-generation musician and one of India's most celebrated Mridangam maestros. A child prodigy who began his journey at age seven, he has devoted over six decades to Carnatic percussion.

With over 28,000 concerts worldwide, he holds a Guinness World Record for a 36-hour non-stop Mridangam performance. He has introduced innovative ensembles like Nava Mridangam and Pancha Mridangam.

He received the Padma Shri in 2008 and has been honoured by several Presidents and Prime Ministers of India. Through the Yella International Institute of Mridangam, he has trained thousands of students globally.

Prof. N.V. Ramana Rao

Distinguished Academician

Prof. N.V. Ramana Rao is a distinguished academician with over 33 years of experience in teaching, research, and institutional governance. He served as Director of NIT Warangal and held key positions including Rector and Registrar of JNT University Hyderabad.

He has been honoured with the Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya Prize (2020), State Best Teacher Award (2011), and Outstanding Concrete Engineer Award (2012).

Prof. Rao has published 186 papers, guided 13 Ph.D scholars, and is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India) and the Telangana Academy of Sciences.

Prof. B.S. Murty

Director, IIITDM Kurnool

Prof. B.S. Murty is an Indian metallurgical engineer. He was awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, the highest science award in India, for the year 2007 in engineering science category.

He serves as the Director of IIITDM Kurnool and also holds the position of Director at IIT Hyderabad and NIT Andhra Pradesh. He was also Director of IIIT Raichur till 2022. Prior to that, he was Head of Department at IIT Madras and Professor at IIT Kharagpur.

Scheduled for Saturday, 11th July 2026 at 1:45 PM (IST), this event will be held in a hybrid format, allowing graduates, their families, and well-wishers to participate both in-person and virtually.
